The most common types of punctuation are commas (,), periods (.), apostrophes (‘), parentheses (), quotation marks (“”), question marks (?), exclamation marks (!), dashes (-), semicolons (;), and colons (?). Each of these types of punctation have a different use. Here is a guide with all of the different types of punctuation marks and their uses. It is important to remember that grammar also includes spelling, how sentences sound, types of words (nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions), and how words are arranged in a sentence. The best way to improve your grammar is simply by practicing speaking and writing sentences as much as you can. Here is a guide to grammar. A: If you are interested in finding a part-time job, start by calling local restaurants and stores to see if they are hiring. If you find a place with job offerings and have to interview, make sure you are prepared to answer any questions about why you should to apply for this job and what you can bring to the workplace. For a more relaxed job, you could also reach out to any family friends to see if you could babysit or help out with any work they might have. Good luck and you’ve got this!

A: Extracurriculars, or activities done outside of school, are ways to show colleges more of who you are as a person. It shows them what you enjoy doing in your free time, what you are passionate about, and even what you plan to do in the future. With that in mind, the best advice is to simply do what you care about and enjoy. If there is a subject in school you love, think about talking to your teacher about ways you could explore your interest in this subject. Maybe you could participate in competitions for that subject, create a club at your school where you learn more about that subject, or write a research paper on a specific topic within that subject. If you love sports, organize a league with your friends where you play every week. Or teach sports to younger children in your neighborhood or in your school. If you love art, create a business where you can sell artwork you make or create an art club. If you would like to make some extra money, getting a part-time job is a very valuable extracurricular that will teach you life-long skills. To summarize, do whatever you enjoy and make it meaningful – almost anything counts as an extracurricular!
